The Story Behind Our Name

The Heart of LiebenMut

The name 'LiebenMut' is a German compound word combining 'Liebe' (love) and 'Mut' (courage). This name was thoughtfully created by my father.

Originally, it was my parents who dreamed of transforming this traditional house into a guesthouse. They envisioned sharing the beauty of this historic kominka with travelers from around the world.

However, just before opening, my father passed away, leaving his dream seemingly incomplete. For a time, it felt as though everything had come to a halt.

Now, as their son, I have decided to carry forward their vision and bring this guesthouse to life.

My mother's name means 'Love' and my father's name means 'Courage.' By combining these two words, my father created 'LiebenMut' - a name that carries both of their spirits.

It is our hope that all who visit this place will find their own sense of love and courage gently kindled within these walls.
